“When we talk about Impact investing we are referring to investments “made into companies, organizations, and funds with the intention to generate a measurable, beneficial, ethical, social and environmental impact within our community alongside a financial return for the investor”.

We are on a mission to spark 1 million start-ups over the next 10 years, which means we are super focused on building partnerships, networks and pipelines for success. We have no interest in creating anything from scratch if it already exists and is working well; there is already too much of that. What we need are more vehicles for change and that is what The YBBA is committed to being.
We want to add value, increase efficiency and increase outcomes for black enterprise through the full integration and application of emerging technology. Investment, technical know-how and ongoing emotional and professional support are hard to come by for black start-ups, which is why we are working with a diverse and rapidly increasing network of world class experts to ensure young black talent in tech get every opportunity to progress in this fast paced industry. The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) have been with us from the beginning, because they understand what we were trying to do and our ethics chime with what they are committed to achieving in relation to the financial services that they regulate, advise and coach both in the UK and across the globe.
There is a lot of short term attention to be garnered by those who achieve that initial intoxicating flash of success but as we all know, true success requires longer term financial, emotional and technical investment. We are working on ensuring more considered and longer term ethical support is made available to Black start-ups and early stage enterprises rather than the cacophony of noise currently attached to early stage businesses with a glint of potential about them. More from us in due course; for now we are focused on developing those networks and long term partnerships for change. Get on our mailing list for regular updates firstname.lastname@example.org
